Why monthly
A shoebox in April is the most expensive bookkeeping there is. We close your books every month, so the numbers are already there when you need them: for a loan, a new hire, a slow season, or just a Tuesday. One flat fee, one named bookkeeper, and one email of questions a month instead of twenty.

Your bookkeeper
A person, not a portal.
Janelle Pettaway started the firm in 2014, after nine years as the in-house controller for a Triangle restaurant group, where she watched good businesses find out in April what had happened in July. Today there are seven of us, and every client has one named bookkeeper who knows the business by name, not by ticket number.

I used to spend Sunday nights in a spreadsheet. Now the summary lands on the 10th and I get an answer the same day I ask.
Danielle, Five Points
They caught up eleven months of books in three weeks, and our CPA said it was the cleanest file she'd ever had from us.
Marcus, Cary
Sales tax used to keep me up at night. Now it's filed on the 20th and I just see the confirmation.
Lena, Glenwood South

What software do you work in?
The common cloud accounting tools small businesses already use. If you don't have one yet, we'll set it up for you. Either way it's your file, in your name, and you keep it if you ever leave.
I'm months behind. Can you still help?
Yes, and you won't be the first. Catch-up books start at $450 for each month behind and usually take two to four weeks. A shoebox of receipts is welcome.
Do you do my taxes?
We don't file income tax returns. We hand your CPA a clean year-end package, and we're happy to introduce you to one. We do file North Carolina sales tax and 1099s.
Is there a contract?
No. Every plan is month to month with no setup fee. Cancel with 30 days' notice, and your books stay exactly where they are.
How do I reach my bookkeeper?
By email, phone or text, and you'll get an answer within one business day. On Growth and up, there's also a 30-minute review call every month.
Do I need to be in Raleigh?
No. We work with businesses all over North Carolina, though most of our clients are in the Triangle. Everything can be done online; the office is there if you'd like to stop by.
